The biggest life lesson I learned from Ace is that he controlled what HE HIMSELF could control and didn’t focus on things he could not control – such as how many times he got to run the football in a game. Ace routinely finished first in conditioning drills after practice and had a work ethic that was second to none. That was all he could control at the time, so that was his focus. To me, if anyone deserved more opportunities to shine on the field than he was given, it was Ace. Like many, many ball players, Ace didn’t get to accomplish what he wanted to on the football field. However, he did something MUCH more important – he became the FIRST person in his family to graduate from college. #DaFellaz
